Upright Row

The upright row is a strength training exercise that works the upper and middle
back, the shoulders, the arms, the abs and the buttocks.

This can be performed in beginner to advanced workouts.

Make sure you keep your belly button drawn in.

Muscles Worked

Primary Muscles: Upper and Middle Back and Shoulders

Secondary Muscles:core stability

What you need: A barbell.

Preparation :

  • Stand with your feet shoulder width apart and feet pointing straight ahead.
  • Keep your back straight and shoulders pulled back.
  • Hold a the bar with an overhand grip slightly about shoulder width.

Movement :

  • Keep your belly button drawn in.
  • Bring the bar up along the body and toward your chin.
  • Raise your elbows as far up as you can.
  • Slowly return extending your arms.
  • Repeat.
